Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 (12 MP): The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 is by far the best waterproof compact digital camera in the market. One of its biggest selling factors is its design. It looks very much like a regular compact camera, with a brushed metal surface and slim profile. It is shockproof and can be used at depths of up to 10 feet. It also has a wide-angle lens and HD video recording capabilities. The quality of the photos and video is also very good. The combination of good design, excellent feature set and great image quality makes the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 the best waterproof compact camera in the market today.

2. Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP (10 MP): This model is waterproof up to 10ft, has a 10MP image sensor, a 3X optical zoom and a 2.7-inch LCD on the back. It is also quite compact, measuring at just 2.2 x 3 x 1.2 inches. The photo quality of the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP may not be as good as the Panasonic model above, but is nevertheless quite sufficient. The biggest selling point of this model would have to be in its price. It currently cost about half the price of other waterproof digital cameras.

3. Pentax Optio W60 (10 MP): The Pentax Optio W60 is another great waterproof model. It has a 5x optical zoom and can withstand pressures at up to 13 feet underwater. It also records HD videos as 720p. It has a very reasonable price tag and works really well underwater. The only downside is its poor battery life.

4. Canon PowerShot D10 (12.1 MP): Many experts have mixed feelings about the Canon PowerShot D10. Whereas it lacks in many ways, it has many features not found on any other waterproof compact models. For instance, it is waterproof to up to depths of 33 feet and freeze-proof to up to -10 degrees Celsius. The photo quality is also very impressive for a waterproof camera. On the flip side, this model has a really weird design. It looks like a toy. It also doesn’t have a wide-angle lens.
